Safe and Secure

by Alexander Hastings

BIO
Alex Hastings lives and works in Portsmouth, England. He likes to write, but he needs to find the kind of paid employment that will allow him time to jot down in his notebook the many quirky and curious ideas that slip unbidden into his head during the course of an uneventful day. This goal, like much of his writing, has thus far remained a fantasy. Alex's medieval story "Mr. Information and the Wimshurst Machine" is available online at the DeathGrip Anthology (www.geocities.com/deathgrip_zine), and his contemporary tale "The Mancipation of Martha" at The House of Pain (www.house-of-pain.com). His poem "Carbon Paper Flesh" is forthcoming at Dark Planet Webzine (www.sfsite.com/darkplanet).

Oyky Dorky

by Byron Blake

Author's Note: There has been a lot of curiosity in learning the "behind the scenes" story of the Bush Whitehouse. This story should answer all concerns.
BIO
The mysterious Byron Blake perhaps the ultimate sub-cult literary figure of our time. Certainly it can be argued that he is one of the most elusive and underground writers of new fiction or whatever genre. His obscure stories have appeared in various formats from college radio, poetry readings, guerilla faxing and over 100 zines since the early 1980s.

Thicket Of Briars

by Karen Snyder

BIO
I'm an 53 year-old lady who runs a satellite/ in-ground pool business. I graduated from Eastern Illinois University School of Art in 1983. I graduated with a degree in Graphic Design. Painting a portrait is very similar to writing fiction; the palettes are different, but the results are almost the same. While my husband is out installing satellites and swimming pools I stay at the shop and write stories. I started writing January of 2001 and I love it; I'm addicted so to speak. If anyone would like to make a suggestion or drop me an e-mail write karensnyder@altavista.com.You have a great web site. Keep up the good work Enrique!
