If only we could have some of the world.
Our demands on it would be quite nice.
We would like the things that bring
a little smile on one's face.
They don't have to be fancy ones.
For example, we could just be content
eating a hot spicy chilli
in some place with colours,
where the music is enough
to make you produce simple dreams.
We could also stop and help
this frail woman in the dark
whose handbag was stolen
by a reckless youth, who thought
he was being brave but never stupid.
I am sure she would be grateful
to the ones who seemed to care a little.
We could also imagine that those
who are laughing could share
with the ones who are crying,
and that the soft hands would
hold the rough ones.
And why not give some time to thinking,
thinking about why the waters are drying,
why the winds are raging furiously,
and why the sky is angry.
If only we could have some of the world.
Why it so out of reach?
