The Drama Of The Homeless
Man Wearing Old Clothes

by Jason Visconti

Silent fare
He is making his way downtown.

His stench
of a gritty poem
held at a distance

Recycles itself back to life.
The shaven cheek turning to our eyes

But not really;
not after
He is all consumed.

And what is this,
sport, careful detail?
He is wearing a wristwatch telling time by moons.
